Em SOUVENIR Tiago Cadete parte dos movimentos de migração portuguesa para França, na segunda metade do século XX, para investigar a história pouco conhecida da migração da sua família paterna. O que não esperava era que SOUVENIR se tornasse num confronto consigo mesmo e com o seu próprio passado.

In SOUVENIR, Tiago Cadete departs from the movements of Portuguese migration to France in the second half of the twentieth century to investigate the little-known history of his paternal family’s migration. What he did not expect was that SOUVENIR would become a confrontation with himself and with his own past.

PASSEIO é uma situação sonora que acontece na praça da Rua de Fernandes Tomás, nº 760, no Porto. O projeto parte de depoimento recolhidos neste mesmo local, por pessoas que habitam diariamente o espaço ou que estão apenas de passagem. O que se escuta entra em justaposição com o que se vê, e é nessa sobreposição temporal que PASSEIO opera - entre o real e o imaginado.

PASSEIO is a sound situation that takes place in the square at Rua de Fernandes Tomás, no. 760, in Porto. The project is based on testimonies
collected in this very location, from people who inhabit the space daily or who are just passing through.
What is heard is juxtaposed with what is seen, and it is in this temporal overlap that PASSEIO operates -between the real and the imagined.

MONUMENTO é uma instalação sonora que reúne as vozes e ideias de 40 jovens em um espaço de escuta e reflexão. Quais são os seus desejos, o que deve ser lembrado e como o futuro pode ser monumentalizado? Eles propõem uma nova forma de pensar o amanhã, onde o futuro não é uma ideia fixa e imutável, mas algo em constante transformação, vivido nas vozes e sonhos de quem o imagina. MONUMENTO busca redesenhar os espaços de memória pública, criando um ponto de encontro para escutar diversas vozes, desejos e futuros possíveis.

MONUMENTO is a sound installation that brings together the voices and ideas of 40 young people in a space for listening and reflection. What are their desires, what should be remembered and how can the future be monumentalized? They propose a new way of thinking about tomorrow, where the future is not a fixed and immutable idea, but something in constant transformation, experienced in the voices and dreams of those who imagine it. MONUMENTO seeks to redesign spaces of public memory, creating a meeting point to listen to diverse voices, desires and possible futures.

CENSURA é uma performance / Podcast que dialoga com a exposição de fotografias de Uliano Lucas “ Revoluções – Guiné-Bissau, Angola e Portugal (1969-1974)“. As imagens que se podem ver na exposição quebraram o silêncio nos meios de comunicação europeus sobre o que acontecia nas então colónias portuguesas em África e mostram Portugal antes e depois do 25 de Abril. Essas fotografias são aqui o ponto de partida para se pensar os mecanismos textuais usados pela censura durante o Estado Novo. O que era proibido e porquê?

CENSURE is a performance / Podcast that dialogues with the photography exhibition by Uliano Lucas “Revolucions – Guinea-Bissau, Angola and Portugal (1969-1974)”. The images that can be seen in the exhibition broke the silence in the European media about what was happening in the then Portuguese colonies in Africa and show Portugal before and after the 25th of April. These photographs are the starting point for thinking about the textual mechanisms used by censorship during the Estado Novo. What was prohibited and why?

MANJAR, 2023

“Manjar” é um grande banquete sem comida, onde as palavras evocam os paladares e sabores que foram construídos com o processo de colonização portuguesa. “Manjar” parte do mais antigo livro de cozinha portuguesa “Livro de cozinha da infanta D. Maria de Portugal”, em justaposição com entrevistas a residentes oriundos das ex-colónias. Através desse conjunto de entrevistas serão mapeadas as influências gastronómicas ancestrais, das comunidades migrantes dos CPLP.

“Manjar” is a great feast without food, where the words evoke the tastes and flavors that were built with the process of Portuguese colonization. “Manjar” is based on the oldest Portuguese cookbook “Livro de Cozinha da Infanta D. Maria de Portugal”, in juxtaposition with interviews with residents from the former colonies. Through this set of interviews, the ancestral gastronomic influences of the CPLP migrant communities will be mapped.
